It's an unfortunate reality that frum children, particularly girls, are being educated in a manner that is both extremely lacking, and potentially damaging. We are missing massive amounts of knowledge in areas that are vital for our lifestyle, and we are misinformed in others. Teachings are presented in a style that leaves children and adults afraid to ask questions and often leads to confusion and resentment in the institution. We need a source that teaches us that it is not only allowed, but encouraged to ask questions, and overturns the false ideology that we've been fed in the name of "frumkeit"
This book is important to me because Judaism is based on the concept of questions - of probing beneath the surface to find the truth. This book will address the questions beneath the standard answers, questions that are real for so many Jews. It will bring more understanding of the Torah into people’s lives and the world.
I had been searching for a while for answers to my questions on Judaism and feminism and other topics and I kind of hit a wall. I couldn't find anyone who didn't dismiss me and was open to having a dialogue. I felt lost and dejected. It was hashgacha pratis when I discovered your account. I love being part of your journey in searching for truth and it gave me a framework for which to start my own personal journey of reading books on Torah and trying to understand yiddishkeit. I'm incredibly grateful that you impacted my life in such a positive way! What you are doing is beyond amazing and I can't wait for this book to be published!😘
This book is important to me because I have a hard time reading Torah sources and very few ways to understand certain topics I don't have clarity on.
Because it answers the questions all of us frum women don’t always have the courage to ask. It’s raw, it’s personal, and it’s long overdue.
When you find the reason behind our traditions, your able to truly honor them.
This book is giving meaning to our religion, customs, laws, and beliefs. Instead of doing things by rote, we will do them because we are informed and and making a choice.
Because learning Judaism from copycating what others do in our lives doesn’t give us a strong internal understanding of why we do...and how we can connect to it
It talks about the things no one else is , and if they are no one ever really has answers
Answering the questions we were told not to ask
